We are seeking a talented individual to join our Government Human Services Consulting (GHSC) team at Mercer, a Marsh business. This can be based anywhere near a Mercer office and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.
As a Senior Government Consulting Analyst, you will play a vital role as a contributing team member assisting with various projects for clients, which are primarily state Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) agencies and related state agencies responsible for Medicaid and CHIP fee-for-service and managed care programs. We will count on you to:
Assist with taking meeting notes and following up with action items and assignments
Research, analyze, and present findings on various policy and program topics to project leaders and senior consultant team members
Provide project coordination activities and other work to support the advancement of project tasks and client deliverables
Review project documentation, including technical write-ups, project documentation, and executive summaries
Utilize internal and external resources, participate in training courses, online learning, or through learning from more experienced colleagues to gain an understanding of government-sponsored health and welfare programs
Manage your time effectively to support a variety of state Medicaid/CHIP projects at any one time
Manage the quality and timeliness of client deliverables and communicate regularly and effectively with project team members
Assist with the preparation and timely delivery of clear and concise project team and client communications
Follow protocols for quality assurance
What you need to have:
Bachelor's degree
1+ year of experience with healthcare or public health related topics - may include a combination of internships or pre-graduate experiences
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Ability to translate technical findings into clear, client-friendly insights
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
What makes you stand out?
Master's degree in public health, health policy, health services research, or a related field
Experience with Medicaid health programs or other government-sponsored healthcare programs
Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to non-technical audiences
Experience performing technical analyses in Excel, SAS, or other data analysis tools

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,000 to $108,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
