Heights Venture is seeking a dynamic, motivated Full-time Civil Engineer III, who enjoys a wide variety of experiences in a fast-paced environment to join our Houston office.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating an engineering plan for land development based on their calculations and any research conducted. They should have experience with AutoCAD and be able to utilize strong design skills in order to create visual aids. By utilizing strong organizational and communication skills, this candidate will also have the ability to execute a project based on the criteria outlined.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for self-coordination and time management in developing project documents in coordination with and under direct supervision from the project supervisor.
• Directs, coordinates, and administers the day-to-day details of assigned projects.
• Creating/presenting civil designs from ideas to finished construction documents.
• Participates in scheduling, coordinating, and interfacing with project team.
• Coordinates allocation of project personnel needs with their supervisor.
• Research data required to develop the project through specific phases including applicable codes.
• Participating in preparation of Construction Document detailing.
• Responsible for keeping the project team aware of project schedules and issues.
• Reviews project files with their supervisor to ensure files are updated with the necessary project documents.
• Accountable for completeness and schedule of assigned tasks and/or phases.
• Accountable for technical accuracy and completeness of all assigned drawing documentation and/or other tasks or services.
• Maintains adherence to project format and office standards in accordance with the Project Reference Manual
• Responsible for completing position competencies & accountabilities checklist.
• Responsible for requesting and maintaining adequate full workload with appropriate supervisor for self

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Civil Engineering site design
• Applicants must have passed the EIT exam. PE exam is preferable.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D is required.
• Experience in Commercial site stormwater management design, utility design, and grading design is required.
