- ACGME Clinical Neurophysiology/EEG or Epilepsy Fellowship
Description
The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) is pleased to announce an opening for a 12-month ACGME-accredited Clinical Neurophysiology (EEG) or Epilepsy Fellowship beginning in July 2027. Fellows may also have the opportunity to extend their training through an additional ACGME-accredited year based on their educational goals and career interests.
The fellowship is based within the Maryland Epilepsy Center, a NAEC Level IV Epilepsy Center, and provides comprehensive training in adult epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. Clinical experience includes:
A 6-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) at UMMC
A robust continuous EEG (cEEG) monitoring program within a 22-bed Neurocritical Care Unit
EEG interpretation across multiple hospital sites within the University of Maryland Medical System
Comprehensive medical management of epilepsy and seizure disorders
Routine and long-term EEG interpretation
Pre-surgical epilepsy evaluation and multidisciplinary epilepsy surgery conferences
Surgical treatment of epilepsy, including resective procedures, laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT), and neuromodulation therapies (RNS, VNS, and DBS)
Intracranial monitoring and brain mapping using stereo-EEG (SEEG) and subdural grid/depth electrodes
Functional epilepsy testing and advanced neuroimaging
Fellows also have opportunities to participate in clinical and translational epilepsy research with mentorship from nationally recognized faculty.

Salary and Benefits
Call responsibilities are shared among fellows, promoting a balanced and supportive training environment. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with ACGME-accredited training positions at the University of Maryland Medical Center based on postgraduate year (PGY) level.

Applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Neurology.
