The Position
The Vice President, Controller will provide strategic leadership and oversight of enterprise-wide financial operations, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of accounting and financial reporting while advancing the organization’s mission and long-term strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this leader will oversee approximately 40 FTEs across Accounting, Accounts Payable, Government Reimbursement, Payroll, and Treasury.
Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), evaluating existing accounting processes to identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthening financial reporting practices. This leader will also focus on building relationships across the organization, mentoring departmental leaders, and developing the team to support long-term operational success and organizational growth.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial leader with extensive hospital accounting experience and a strong command of GAAP. This individual should be a collaborative, forward-thinking leader who can quickly establish credibility, build trust with an established team, and introduce innovative approaches while maintaining operational stability. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Significant senior level financial leadership experience within a hospital or health system required
CPA certification preferred.
Compensation Range
The base salary range for this position is $228,000 to $297,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range listed above is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
